British Nigerian Shola Shoretire became the first teenager in Manchester United to play in the Uefa Europa League after making his Europa League debut in the United 0-0 game against Real Sociedad.
Shola Shoretire came into the game in the second half of the game. He came on in the 76th minute of the game to replace Mason Greenwood. It was his second game for Manchester United, and he made his international debut with the United senior team in their 3-1 win over Newcastle United.
Shola Shoretire is the youngest Manchester United player to feature in the Europa League League. He is 17 years and 23 days old as at the time he made the debut. He is the youngest ever player to make an appearance for United in a European competition.
The young player only made his first senior team appearance for Manchester United at the weekends. The Red Devils are now through to the last round of 16 of the Europa League as they won 4-0 on aggregate.
The 4-0 win in the first-leg in Spain was enough to see Ole Gunner Solskjaer side qualify for the next round.
