Shettima Gives Reasons Tinubu Won’t Islamise Nigeria

Kashim Shettima, Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC and Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s running mate, has defended his colleague by saying there’s no intention to Islamise Nigeria and its citizens.

The reaction is coming as the opposition and other concerned parties are condemning the Muslim-Muslim ticket and the adverse effect it would have on the state of the nation.

Giving reasons Tinubu is the best option for a country like Nigeria today, Shettima insisted that his Presidential Candidate possesses qualities that promote progression.

During the 96th anniversary celebration of the Yoruba Tennis Club in Ikoyi, Lagos state, he said qualities such as having the needed dosage of hospitality and necessary commitment are what the country yearns for in a leader.

He compared these attributes of the former Lagos State Governor to that of the late military ruler, Gen. Sani Abacha and President Muhammadu Buhari.

Like Buhari, he hinted that the APC Presidential Candidate has the will-power to make things happen, adding that he’s detribalised and competent, which disappoints the notion that he intends to Islamise Nigeria.

He said the APC flag bearer possesses the capability to bring back the Nigerian values as well as address National issues to take the country to a newer height.

Meanwhile, he reiterated that there is no way Asiwaju would destabilize the nation, stressing he has work ethics like former President Olusegun, among other characteristics of past great leaders.
