Shatta Wale Released on Bail After 7 days in Prison

Ghanaian singer Shatta Wale and his cohorts have been released on bail after being charged with publishing false news following a staged prank of the singer being shot.

On October 19, 2021, the singer turned himself in after allegedly faking a gunshot attack with his three friends. The singer was charged with the publication of false news, causing fear and panic.

A video was released on October 18 at night, showing the Dance Hall Star in a pull of blood. His assistant confirmed the incident, saying he was in the hospital receiving treatment.

The police got involved and found out that it was all a prank and declared Shatta Wale wanted by the police.

He was in custody with his friends at the Ankaful Prison for seven days after appearing before an Accra Circuit Court today, October 25.
They were granted a bail of GH100,000 on self-recognition.

The case has been postponed, and he is to appear in court again on November 9.
