Sergio Busquets Euro 2020 Chances Threatened

Barcelona and Spain star player Sergio Busquets have tested positive for coronavirus, which means his presence in the Euro 2020 is now under probability. The player test positive for the virus just eight days before their Euro 2020 opener.

Sergio Busquets Test Positive for Coronavirus

Because of the test result from the Barcelona and Spain midfielder, the team had to pull out of their final warm-up game, which was supposed to be against Lithuania on Tuesday. All other players tested negative except for Sergio Busquets. The 32-year-old has gone to self-isolate while they wait to get an update on his recovery to know if he will still make the Euro 2020 squad.

The head coach of Spain said the senior team could not play the friendly against Lithuania again, but he will use his Under-21 squad to play the game. The RFEF is now giving back the ticket for the game to their fans, and they also discounted tickets to those who still wish to attend.

Spain begins their Group E campaign against Sweden in Seville on 14 June, before playing Poland (19 June) and Slovakia (23 June).
