An Aspiring Senatorial Candidate, Olatorera Majekodunmi-Oniru, gunning for the senatorial seat under Ogun Central Senatorial District of the All Progressives Congress, APC, made a major blunder while fielding questions from her interviewers.
The Aspirant, Majekodunmi-Oniru, failed to understand the question thrown at her when she misinterpreted it and responded in a rather embarrassing manner.
During the interview, she was asked, among several other questions, things relating to her campaign message, especially the reason she’s contesting in the first place.
On the live television interview, she was asked, “What has struck you the most in your political campaign?” Surprisingly, Oniru said replied by saying, “You mean, like lighting thunder kind of struck?” she inquired.
This was one of many other funny responses obtained from her conversation with the TV presenters. There was another response she gave, mentioning how she loved going to the toilet, with no relevance to the question asked.
However, some social media observers came to her rescue on Instagram, noting that her action was intentional, claiming she only wanted to sound humorous.
The likes of @Omaebulu explained, saying,
‘I don’t think that the lady Aspirant was ignorant of the word “struck” or lacked in discernment. I think she merely tried to “strike” humour with her reword but the Interviewer is just a-too-prim-a-lady to pick up. By the way, the usage of the word ‘struck’ in that case is colloquial and can be given to different meanings.’
