Barcelona will resume their La Liga title defence playing against Real Mallorca, that will be the first game for the Spanish giant since lock-down in La Liga and Spain as a whole. All sporting activities in Spain was suspended on the 12th of March but according to their Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez he said they can now go ahead and restart the league.

Barcelona is currently topping the La Liga table and is two points ahead of rivals Real Madrid, they will travel to Real Mallorca on the 13th of June (21:00 BST kick-off), two days after the season gets back with Sevilla being the first to play as they host Real Betis. Real Madrid, two points behind Barcelona after 27 games, will resume their campaign at home as they welcome Eibar the day after Barcelona plays theirs, 14th of June (18:30).

Organisers of La Liga have only released scheduling details for the first two rounds of fixtures, although La Liga chief Javier Tebas confirmed that all games will be played behind closed doors every day of the week until the season is completed on 19th of July. Barca will host bottom place Leganes on the 16th of June while Real play home to Valencia on the 18th of June.

Weekday matches will kick off at 18:30 and 21:00, while weekend games will begin at 16:00, 18:30 and 21:00, with an extra slot at 12:00 if it is not too hot. Applause from fans across the world will be played in stadiums in the 20th minute of matches to “show support for the heroes of the Covid-19 pandemic”, Tebas said. La Liga will be the second of Europe’s top five leagues to resume after the delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
