The Social Development Party, SDP Presidential Primaries, just like the All Progressives Congress, APC, was concluded yesterday, where Prince Adewole Adebayo emerged as the flag bearer of the party.
He surprisingly polled 1526 votes as against that of Khadijah Okunnu-Lamidi, who scored 83 votes only.
Giving the statistics on the SDP Presidential Primaries, Dr Umar Abdullahi, Chairman, Electoral Committee, he revealed that a total of 1769 delegates from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, were accredited for the election.
Meanwhile, the victor of the election immediately gave a speech to pledge on tasks to be treated once elected as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Adebayo promised to defeat the candidates of the ruling, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, respectively.
While speaking, he pointed out that Nigeria is not necessarily a difficult country to rule, adding that it is only complicated because the ‘we’ the people have become our own problems.
He also vowed to provide new opportunities and a new way of living to the citizens of this country, adding that there are economic eplorable opportunities to be tapped from once the reasons are genuine.
Also speaking at the ocasion, the National Chairman of the party, Shehu Musa Gabam, said that Nigeria would get it right this time around with good leadership.
