Super Eagles winger Samuel Kalu who plays for Girondins Bordeaux has returned to training on Wednesday after collapsing on the pitch at the Stade Velodrome during their 2-2 draw against Marseille on Sunday. The 23-year-old collapsed in the sixth minute as Dimitri Payet prepared to take a free kick.
Players from both teams rushed to the Nigeria international and called for medical attention. Samuel Kalu was able to get up and walk off the pitch with the help of his teammates, holding an ice pack against his head. The player returned to the game after getting treatment but was substituted after he appeared dazed.
The club took to social media to announce his return to training. They made it known in a statement saying: “Samuel Kalu is back in training 👊.” Samuel is likely to feature in their next game which is against Angers on Sunday.
