Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves has come out to express shock with the way Arsenal celebrated their win over them, the player said the Londoners celebrated the win like they had “won the league”. The Gunners held on to beat the West Midlands side 1-0 with ten men.
Gabriel Martinelli was given a red card in the 69 minutes of the game but the Gunners were able to hold the win till the end of the game. The victory was Arsenal’s first win in 2022 and moved them up to fifth in the Premier League. R” Ruben Neves said they saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level his side is in the English Premier League.
Neves said: “I didn’t see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years – it was like they won the league.” Gabriel bundled home Alexandre Lacazette’s flick-on to score for Arsenal, who claimed the first win in six games to close to within a point of West Ham having played two fewer games.
The player said they did well but could not find the back of the net, he also said Arsenal goal could be debated as some referees will not award it as they were a foul before the goal.
