Former Real Madrid and Barcelona Brazilian football legend, Ronaldo, has said Karim Benzema “deserves the Ballon d’Or” award. Karim Benzema has been one of Real Madrid’s best players this season, as Los Blancos continue to march towards both the La Liga and Uefa Champions League titles. The France striker has also returned to his national team after a lengthy absence.
Ronaldo, who won Liga and Supercopa de Espana titles during his time with Real Madrid, said: “Benzema? He deserves the Ballon d’Or. “I’ve been saying it for years and they’ve criticized me, but he deserves it, he’s a great striker.”
Benzema scored a hat-trick as Carlo Ancelotti’s men beat Paris St-Germain on aggregate before scoring another hat-trike to help Madrid beat Chelsea 3-1 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.
The player also scored in the return leg that ended 3-2 with Real Madrid winning 5-4 on aggregate. The player at his age has done very well for both club and country and so the former Brazilian star player believes the Real Madrid striker should be given the Ballon d’Or award this season as no attacker has done what he has done so far.
