International singer, Rihanna, is currently under fire in India after she made a comment that has raised a lot of controversies.
The US singer recently commented on the ongoing protest staged by Indian farmers who are calling for some reforms to be stepped down.
Rihanna and some other well-known persons recently took to social media to pull their weights behind the months-long protests.
Her Wednesday comment in support of the farmers has gained a response from the Indian government. The government has tagged her comment as not only inaccurate but also irresponsible.
The Indian foreign ministry wrote, “Before rushing to comment on such matters, we would urge that the facts be ascertained, and a proper understanding of the issues at hand be undertaken.”
Though she has not responded to the government’s reaction to her comment, Rihanna was not the only public figure behind the farmer’s agitations.
Climate Change Activist, Greta Thunberg, US Lawyer and Activist, Meena Harris who is also the niece to Vice president Kamala Harris have also made social media comments backing the farmers’ call for reforms.
