Nigerian Representatives have concluded plans to probe the reportedly missing arms and ammunitions of about one hundred and eighty thousand.
They agreed at a plenary session that the investigation must progress to recover the weapons owned by the Nigeria Police Force, NPF.
The report about the missing weapons was contained in the 2019 report of the Auditor-General for the Federation, and up until today, nothing has been said about its recovery.
At the plenary session, the bid to recover the missing arms and ammunition followed the adoption of a motion on matters of urgent public importance by the Deputy Minority Leader, Hon. Toby Okechukwu (PDP-Enugu), yesterday in Abuja.
Recall that an Auditor-General of the Federation, AuGF’s report had alleged that no fewer than 178,459 different arms and ammunition of the Nigeria Police Force has not been accounted for in 2019 as widely reported recently and in the media.
The Reps have asked that efforts be intensified to search aand account for the missing weapons, adding that until they are recovered, the investigations will not be closed.
