Kenneth Okonkwo, famous Nollywood Star, is no longer a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for obvious reasons not beyond comprehension.
One of the major reasons why he decided to leave the ruling party is because of the point that they do not follow the true foundation upon which the APC was established in the first place.
He stressed that some of the genuine ideals of the ruling party now seem strange to its members, especially the error committed is settling for a Muslim-Muslim presidential and vice-presidential tickets.
On a post he made via his Instagram page, Kenneth Okonkwo pointed that the party no longer respects fairness in the political arena, adding that his resignation follows the lack in the interest of equity, justice, fairness and peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.
He stated that his earlier reason for being a part of the Progressives is due to the constructional vows taken as a patriot to the party and Nigeria in general, but things changed when the party failed to tackle all forms of discrimination and social injustice in Nigeria.
If the party had continued in the light in which it was discovered, Okonkwo hinted that things would have been different, stating that they were supposed to concentrate on building a nation which will guarantee equal opportunity for all and ensure mutual and peaceful co-existence among Nigerian citizens.
The ideology the party is selling to Nigerians,he insisted, is wrong, noting that they are forcing the opinion that Muslims would not vote for a Northern Christian as the running mate to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pointing that the whole idea is a fallacy.
“This will permanently destroy the political viability of Northern Christians in Nigeria if allowed to stand.” He stated.
