Reasons for Postponing Nnamdi Kanu’s Case vs FG

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, through his lawyers, established a case against the Federal Government, FG, for reasons centring on Human Rights Abuse.

He filed a lawsuit of five billion naira (N5,000,000,000), intending to enforce his Fundamental Human Rights and for his unlawful detention, among other complaints.

His Lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, who forwarded the documents to the Abia State High Court, said the case had to be adjourned for reasons that Justice Onuoha A.K Ogwe, the Chief Judge in charge of the case, was absent.

He explained that the hearing was slated for 9 am, but unfortunately, the Judge’s absence hindered the process and led to the postponement.

According to the lawyer, the suit has eight reliefs, including “A Declaration that Kanu’s arrest in Kenya by their agents without due process of law is arbitrary.
