Manchester United is close to agreeing with Lokomotiv Moscow for Ralf Rangnick to become their next interim head coach. The United board has chosen the German tactician to take over the job Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was relieved of. Ralf Rangnick is close to finalising a deal to become the Premier League club Manchester United interim manager until the end of the season.

Discussions are ongoing over a deal that would also see the German remain at the club for two years beyond the end of the season in a consultancy role. The 63-year-old is one of the most respected names in German football and is currently manager of sports and development for Lokomotiv Moscow.

Why Manchester United Wants Ralf Rangnick

Manchester United remain in talks with the Russian club over an agreement to release Ragnick. They want to sign the manager because of his experience in coaching and his impact on all the clubs he has managed. It is said that the man thought both Chelsea and Liverpool coach Thomas Tuchel and Jurgen Klopp.

As it stands, Michael Carrick is still expected to be in charge for Sunday’s Premier League game against Chelsea, but it is expected that United will announce the signing of Ralf Rangnick before the end of next week.
