Given the increase in the number of infections across the country, the Presidential Task Force, PTF on COVID-19 has hinted on the possibility of enforcing a total lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Plateau state respectively.
The PTF National Incident Manager, Mukhtar Muhammed, described the rate of COVID-19 infections in the country as alarming.
Muhammed disclosed that the available data shows that urban local governments in the affected places recorded the highest COVID-19 cases during the second wave in the country.
He further stated that the PTF has been analysing the data and looking at the geographical areas most affected and the different age groups.
