Prince Harry and Oprah Partner on Mental Health Documentary

Prince Harry has today announced a partnership with Oprah Winfrey as co-creators and executive producers of a forthcoming mental health documentary series for Apple.

He revealed the news to over  four million followers that they are working together on a mental health series that will launch on Apple in 2020.

Prince Harry has previously spoken out about battling numerous breakdowns while coming to terms with his mother’s death. The cause will be particularly close to his heart.

“I truly believe that good mental health, mental fitness is the key to powerful leadership, productive communities and a purpose-driven self. It is a huge responsibility to get this right as we bring you the facts, the science and the awareness of a subject that is so relevant during these times. Our hope is that this series will be positive, enlightening and inclusive. Sharing global stories of unparalleled human spirit fighting back from the darkest places, and the opportunity for us to understand ourselves and those around us better. I am incredibly proud to be working alongside Oprah on this vital series.”

The Duke of Sussex and Oprah “are partners, co-creators and executive producers” of the series, which they have been developing for several months.

The multi-part series will be a highlight of the forthcoming launch of Apple TV+, the tech giant’s online service that will challenge Netflix, Amazon and HBO. It is due to launch this Autumn, with the untitled series expected to be broadcast in 2020.

Oprah, outlining her partnership with Apple TV+ last month, said it offered a unique opportunity to tackle the daunting challenges of our time.
