President Buhari Extends Lockdown By 6 Days

President Muhammadu Buhari has further extended the lockdown order issued on the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Abuja, Lagos and Ogun States in a nation-wide broadcast.

The President who had issued a 24day cumulative lockdown on these three locations said the lockdown order would be eased but not until May 4, 2020.

While explaining the reason for the development, he stressed that professional advice was duly followed towards the easing of the lockdown order.

President Buhari however added that there would be an 8pm to 6am curfew in these three locations starting from Monday, May 4, when the new directive would take effect.

During his address, he maintained that though the lockdown would be relaxed, there would be a ban on all interstate non-essential travels.

President Buhari said the compulsory use of facemasks, adherence to social distancing and personal hygiene would also be enforced.
