…As Wike Says ‘Only Death Can Make Me Step down’

It’s a shame politics in Nigeria is still perceived as war and few things or nothing is being done to keep the situation in a controllable state seeing that even up to date, Local Council Elections are not completely without violence.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, made it clear that it is only death that can make him step down from the 2023 Presidential Race and that he’s not willing to compromise his presidential ambition for any politician.

Wike insisted that he will not step down from the 2023 presidential race being a presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He mentioned this during an interview with British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC Pigin, where some chieftains of the PDP had demanded that the presidential candidate of the party should be picked through consensus.

However, when it was inquired whether or not the Rivers State Governor would step down for fellow party members as a presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections, Wike said, “Why will I step down for anybody? If you want to do consensus, there must be equity and fairness. Are the hands of those demanding consensus clean? People talking about consensus are the ones running the election. Is it the party’s decision?
