Police Roll Out Emergency Numbers As Hoodlums Burn Over 200 Cars In Abuja

Following the attacks on some #EndSARS protesters in the nation’s capital, Abuja on Monday, the Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Bala Ciroma, has rolled out the numbers with which people could reach the police command.

In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, ASP Mariam Yusuf, the Commissioner called for calm among protesters following a clash between the EndSARS protesters and those who were supporting SARS.

While pledging the commitment of the Commissioner to ensuring the protection of lives and property in the FCT, Yusuf urged the public to reach the command on the following numbers: 08003913803, 08061581938, 07057337653 or 08028940883 for emergency or distress call.

According to her, FCT residents can report the conduct of police officers by calling the Public Complaint Bureau on 09022222352.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that dangerously armed hoodlums on okada motorcycles attacked peaceful EndSARS protesters in Kabusa Junction, Apo, Abuja. Everyevery.ng learnt that the attack happened simultaneously while the police were also dispersing the protesters with teargas and live ammunition.

According to the Feminist Coalition, the thugs were sent to incite violence to discredit the ongoing protest.

Sources had earlier confirmed that armed policemen fired live bullets and teargas to disperse peaceful protesters gathered at AYA Junction in Abuja, injuring many of them in the process while a female protester holding a Nigerian flag was beaten up by the policemen in an attempt to retrieve it from her.
