The police officer caught on camera smoking weed while in uniform in the Ijora area of Lagos has been identified.
The police officer was said to be an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) named Babatunde Adebayo at the Shogunle Division of the Police Command.
The Acting Force PRO, FHQ Abuja, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi made this known in a series of tweets on Tuesday.
The Police PRO further revealed that an investigation into the officer’s act has been opened and disciplinary measures will be taken against him.
PPRO Adejobi wrote, “The Lagos State Police Command has identified the police officer pictured smoking weed in the Ijora area of Lagos State. He is ASP Babatunde Adebayo serving at Shogunle Divison of the Command.
“Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi, FDC, MNIM, PSC has directed the immediate commencement of appropriate disciplinary measures commensurate with his rank.”
He further warned all officers of the Command to stay clear of all unprofessional and unethical conduct that could put the force in disrepute.
