Officers of the Cross River State Police command have reportedly arrested Michael Bassey, the Pastor of United Evangelical Church, for unlawful possession of a human skull.
While parading Bassey and some other suspects, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Sikiru Akande, confirmed that police arrested the pastor at his residence following a complaint from a concerned citizen on the threat to life.
According to the Police Boss, police arrested the pastor Overseer with one human skull tied with the complainant’s picture. The CP added that the police would arraign the suspect in court after concluding the ongoing investigation.
Meanwhile, the 45-year-old pastor denied the allegations, noting that he was not into any diabolical act. He claimed to have been conducting healing services for his congregation members before his arrest.
Also, the Cross River Police paraded one Christian Edem-Eyo for allegedly killing and beheading one Uduak Okpo and buried her head and the body separately on June 6.
Meanwhile, Eyo confirmed that he killed Okpo because she belonged to the marine world, adding that she was terrorising him spiritually in the compound.
