Paul Pogba has admitted he made a “stupid mistake” to give Arsenal their victory at Manchester United. The former Juventus player said he could not believe he allowed himself to make such a mistake. Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was thinking the game will end in a 0-0 draw but the penalty gave Arsenal the win.
It was Arsenal’s first win in Old Trafford for 14 years. Bellerin was fouled by France international Paul Pogba in the penalty box and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang converted to settle the game.
The former Juventus star said: “Maybe I was a bit out of breath and it made me do this stupid mistake.” “I felt like I touched him a bit and I knew I was in the box. I shouldn’t have given a penalty away like that.”
“I’m not the best defensively in the box but I can learn and work on that,” he concluded. It was the third time the 27-year-old had conceded a penalty during Solskjaer’s time as United manager. No Manchester United player has conceded more than one.
Manchester United head coach said: “Paul has held his hand up.” It was his 100th game as United boss. “He knows he could and should have done better in that instance. He knows if he stays on his feet it will be OK because the boy isn’t going anywhere.”
