POETRY: IF WE COULD EVER GO BACK

Share

If we could ever go back,

To the drizzling dark night

When our arms brought warmth

Our hearts skipped on icy aisle

Yet not frozen

Because you are my chosen

They say weather for two;

We are in this walk too

A droplet from your hair leads the way;

Her pace made our night a day

Huh! I thought a kiss quickens our walk

Oh Lightning! why have you halted our work?

Hop, step, and jump with the belle in my boulevard

Her smiles climb up my face as vine in my vineyard

Intoxicated this day by your love,

On your wet lips we’ve passed this into law

Ha! What could have ever halt this journey

Is it work, fame or money?

I can’t just stay forever in this dark night

For only our first love could bring back the light.

Go back
