Peter Obi Observes Moment of Silence for Election Violence Victims

Peter Obi, the Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, LP, during his first press briefing since the election result was announced, observed a moment of silence for victims of the election violence.

A considerable number of persons lost their lives attempting to exercise their voting rights in various parts of the country.

The Labour candidate cited cases of attacks and those that were caught in the cross-fire of all the chaos in some polling units.

Peter Obi spoke of the irregularities in the electioneering process, stressing that Nigeria cannot progress by living an unexamined lifestyle.

He harped on the need for due process, credibility, transparency, and accountability in Nigeria’s voting procedures, noting that the just concluded election lacks all the merits to be considered valid.

He insisted that the results would be contested in court in due course, seeing that the election process was marred by foul plays that he would address not before he made his way to the court of law.

During the press briefing, Obi weeped bitterly over the present condition of the nation and assured his supporters that his party would seek redress.
