Former Chelsea and Barcelona star player Pedro has terminated his contract with AS Roma to join fierce rivals Lazio on a free transfer after just one season. The former Spain International was surplus to requirements by new AS AS Roma new head coach José Mourinho, who was appointed in May.
The Portuguese coach said he would not need the services of the ex-Barcelona man after the arrival of Tammy Abraham. Pedro has now joined Lazio as the Italian Serie A counts days to reason. The former Chelsea man won both the Europa and the Uefa Champions League with Chelsea and a Premier League title before joining AS Roma.
Following Mourinho’s decision, the attacker accepted joining city rivals Lazio, reuniting with his former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri. Pedro underwent his medical with the Biancocelesti this afternoon at the Paideia Clinic and penned a two-year contract with the club. He was also presented with the number nine shirt.
