Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has faulted the manner that the All Progressives Congress, APC Government is handling and treating corruption cases in the country.
The opposition party emphasised that the ruling party only claims to be playing its anti-graft roles in society, but in reality, all the mechanisms installed to tackle financial irregularities are not functional.
According to the statement put forward by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, he was simply responding to the comments by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.
The statement made available to the public on Thursday, was as a result of Ologunagba’s reaction because of the comments from the Federal Government that claimed it was working assiduously to ensure the eradication of illegalities from the Nigerian system.
The controversy here is that Transparency International, TI, in one of it’s multiple reports, rated Nigeria, under the leadership of the Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, as the 2nd most corrupt nation in West Africa and 154 out of 180 in Global Corruption Index.
