Manchester United and France international Paul Pogba is reportedly considering signing a contract extension with Manchester United. The World Cup-winning Frenchman has entered the final year of his existing contract, and although the club has been on his neck to sign a new contract, he has been quiet about it, but now it seems he might do it after all.

Spanish giants Real Madrid and French Ligue 1 Paris Saint-Germain top side have been linked with the player, but with the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo, it seems Pogba is likely to sign a new deal with United. Los Blancos was supposedly confident of signing him in 2022, but the latest developments in the midfielder’s contract saga could deal the La Liga outfit a major blow in their pursuit.

According to reports, Paul Pogba is now leaning towards staying at Old Trafford, with the return of Cristiano Ronaldo and Saturday’s 4-1 win over Newcastle United being potentially pivotal factors in the decision. Reports also add that that talks over an Old Trafford extension will resume ‘in due course, but United are still making contingency plans should Pogba ultimately end his Red Devils stint.

The former Juventus player provided his sixth and seventh assists of the Premier League season in Saturday’s win over Newcastle, where Ronaldo scored two goals. He has now scored 38 goals and provided 49 in 210 games for United across all tournaments.
