John Paintsil Joins in Criticizing Ghana Early Exit Paintsil

This is the first time Ghana has gone out in the group stages since 2006 in Egypt. The ex-player said since then they have never looked back, they have been doing well until this time. He said the Nations Cup exit, as an ex-player, makes him feel so disappointed. According to him, he said: “I can’t say it is embarrassing to finish last because we lost to Comoros. These days football’s dynamic has changed and every football nation needs to be respected.”

He also praised the Comoros team, he said t5hey came and proved themselves on the world stage. Paintsil said they are not embarrassed because of the opponents, but because Ghana is a big football nation, not just in Africa but across the world. He concluded by saying: “Put simply, we should not have exited at the group stage.” He is not the first ex-international to express his disappointment in the team as Asamoah Gyan had earlier said he is disappointed with the team.
