Oyo Government Unveils New Radio Station

The Oyo State Government through the Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism has unveiled plans to start an online radio station that will complement other platforms through which government programmes and policies are relayed to the citizenry.

The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun, who announced the commencement of test transmission for the online radio said broadcasting is scheduled to start in January 2021.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner, he disclosed that the online radio would have contents that would relay activities of all Ministries, Directorates and Agencies of the State to the people.

Olatunbosun added that the radio station would also be a platform to get feedback from the people of the state.

According to him, the online radio station is another innovation to complement other efforts of the Ministry in relaying the activities of the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration.

He opined that the radio is currently on test transmission with plans to commence full broadcasting in 2021 adding that it is for the sole purpose of bringing governance to the people with little or no cost.
