Owo Attack: Oyo State Declares 3 Days Mourning

The Oyo State Government has declared a three-day mourning period in respect of the victims of the Owo attack in Ondo State.

Gunmen attacked the St. Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State, during a Sunday Mass on June 5, 2022, killing Over 35 worshippers, with several others injured from bullet wounds.

The Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, stated that Governor Seyi Makinde has approved that flags be flown at half-mast across the state.

According to the statement released, the mourning period will run from Monday, June 13 to Wednesday, June 15, 2022, in honour of the slain victims.
