Regardless, some Boko Haram fighters were fed up with the practice and decided to renounce their membership of the sect yesterday in BornoState.
The repentant terrorists submitted their weapons and every other exhibit related equipment to the nearest military point in the Gwoza route, and they would be rehabilitated and reinstated into society.
According to the report, the commanders and foot-soldiers had escaped from Jaje within the Sambisa Forest, noting that Operation Hadin Kai troops of 192 Battalion deployed to Gwoza-Limankara road took them into custody.
Further probing revealed that some of the sect members were captured and indoctrinated at a very tender age and searched for means to leave without being detected by ISWAP.
