Osinachi’s Death: Rev. Hills Agbo Use John Wesley’s Story to Advice Christians on Domestic Violence

Following the death of Gospel Minister Osinachi Nwachukwu who was allegedly killed by her husband through domestic violence and abusive marriage, popular servant of God Rev. Hills Agbo, the general overseer of Miracle Morning Ministry, has given his take on whether is right as a Christian to remain in an abusive marriage or not. The preacher who is known for the sound teachings of the word of God took to his Facebook page hours after the incident and wrote: “JOHN WESLEY WAS SEPERATED FROM HIS WIFE BECAUSE OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND ABUSE.”

Rev. Hills Agbo who is the first and only first-class student of Psychology at the prestigious University Benue State University further buttresses his point by giving the life story of great God’s general of the Methodist Church John Wesley. He said he read the biography of John Wesley, and he saw how the wife of the preacher would slap him, beat him, and drag him on the floor by his hair because he is a man that feared God and preached holiness, he would never retaliate.”

“It became impossible for him to stay with her under the same roof, the church then came up with the solution of separation, as continuity in the same home with such a combative and combustive partner, would have led to severe bodily harm even death.”

It was stated that John Wesley and his wife Mary were never formally divorced but they never lived together until his death. The good thing is that staying off an abusive marriage enabled him to fulfill his call to the fullest and today, the methodist church is a blessing to us all.

Rev. Hills Agbo ended his comment with advice and prayer to every believer out there, he said: “May we be wise and know what the mind of God is per time and not follow some dogmas that the Holy Ghost is not currently quickening.” He also said, “May God heal every struggling marriage in Jesus’ Name, and may the church refrain from stigmatizing those whose marriage could not work.”

The need for great men like Rev. Hills Agbo to come and talk about things like this became very necessary as the death of Min. Osinachi through abuse in marriage is not the first in our today’s society. Many have questioned the better for worse part of marital vows, legendary Gospel producer Sunny Pee who also produced for Min. Osinachi wrote on his Facebook status asking if the better for the worse part can be taken out and he further questioned if it was even Scriptural.

With the explanation given using the life of John Wesley as a case study, it is clear that instead of dying in an abusive marriage in the name that “I am a Christian” and since the Bible’s only grand for divorce is adultery separation becomes the option left to take since it will save both the couples and also the children’s lives and mental health as well.
