Long life is what everyone prays for, and no matter how old a loved one is, you will always want them to keep living so that you can continue seeing them.
But with the reality across the world today, the longevity of life is threatened with thousands of people dropping dead daily as a result of several ailments, but currently, Coronavirus seems to be betting other ailments to this.
Already, over two hundred and fifty thousand people have died globally after suffering complications from the Coronavirus, and over 2.1 million people are fighting for their lives after contracting the virus.
While scientists, including traditional medicine practitioners, work day and night to get a vaccine and cure to combat Coronavirus, the World Health Organisation, (WHO) says ordinary washing of hands can save more lives and reduce the spread of Coronavirus around the world.
WHO stressed that hand washing could adequately help the spread of pathogens that have hitherto ravaged and threatened human existence.
These assertions were made by the WHO in its released statement as the world celebrates this year’s Global Hand Hygiene Day.
“ This year, the campaign theme: “ SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands”, is aligned with the yearn the Nurse and Mid-Wife.
“ It aims to recognise nurses and mid-wives as the frontline hero who deserve acknowledgement and appreciation and highlights their critical roles in infection prevention.
“ Health workers and community members alike can play a role in preventing infections by practising regular and frequent hand washing.”
WHO therefore advised that regular hand washing be a norm at this particular period to avoid contracting the virus which can reduce the number of avoidable deaths and promoting long life.
