Operation HADIN KADIN has thus far been effective in the fight against terrorists around the nation as troops of sector one successfully neutralised the Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists.
The army overpowered BokoHaram, and ISWAP fighters in an ambush staged at one of their notorious crossing points and hideouts along the Kwadal-Agapalwa- Amuda axis in the Northern part of Nigeria.
According to Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, Army spokesperson, who was on a long-range fighting Patrol towards Agapalwa and Amuda villages, got a clue that the Islamic extremists were operating close by and quickly set up an ambush.
As contained in a statement issued yesterday by the Nigerian Military, the troops who had an advantage over the terrorists continued to press forward offensively to leave them handicapped completely.
Nwachukwu explained that in the battle that ensued, troops rained heavy fire on the terrorists, inflicting maximum casualties on them.
He added that after gallantly eliminating the terrorists, the troops recovered one General Purpose Machine Gun, GPMG, three Hand Grenades, 62 links of 7.62mm ammunition, one Motorcycle and three Bicycles from the terrorists.
