One Dead As Alleged Clique Rivalry Escalates In Ogun State

Man killed in rival clash in Ogun state

A young man identified as Alari David in the Agosasa, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State has been confirmed dead after he was allegedly stabbed by three brothers and their friend.

Residents of the area identified the alleged killers involved in this clash as Taiwo Musa, Kehinde Musa and Umar Musa while the friend who was also involved is Kehinde Oyajinmi. According to the reports, this clash started on Wednesday evening when David was first attacked by these four guys in a brawl and stabbed.

The next day, Thursday, David decided to take the issue up with his attackers parents for it to be settled but on getting to their home he discovered that their parents were not at home. He, however, met his attackers there. Reports have it that another fight broke out at the attackers’ home and it was during this that they stabbed the deceased, David in the chest with a knife.

David was immediately rushed to Olotonu hospital in Agosasa but unfortunately dies before he could get medical treatment. Upon hearing the news of his death, friends of David set alleged killers’ house on fire and it was only when traditional authority intervened that peace was restored in the community.

According to reports, the culprits fled the city after David dies and efforts are being made to apprehend them.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer said he would drop a conclusive statement as soon as he has been brief on the incident.
