Ondo State has again lost another prominent medical practitioner to coronavirus pandemic as the virus continues to ravage the country.
According to the state, Nigeria Medical Association, NMA Chairman, Dr. Wale Oke, the former state NMA Chairman Dr. Micheal Adeyeri was lost to complications related to the coronavirus.
Adeyeri while confirming Oke’s death said he died at the Federal Medical Centre, Two, Ondo State.
The late former NMA Chairman owns a hospital in the heart of Akure, the state capital, where he was said to have contracted the virus.
According to Adeyeri, the late medical practitioner was said to have attended to a suspected victim of the virus before he was confirmed for it.
It would be recalled that Ondo State also recently lost its state Commissioner for Health, Wahab Adegbenro to COVID-19 related complication.
The state Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, was also last month confirmed to be positive to the virus but has subsequently been reported negative after a few days.
Nigeria currently has 30,249 confirmed cases of coronavirus, 684 deaths from complications, 12,373 recoveries, and 17,192 active cases.
