The Ondo State Government has reconsidered its decision to relax lockdown to allow Christian gather for Easter celebration.
Following public outcry over the government’s decision, the State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said he had to consider the concerns raised about his government’s decision on relaxing social distancing in the State.
He made this known in a post on his official Twitter handle on Saturday.
The tweet reads “I have heard you all and your concerns on the need to #LockDownOndo.
I have just concluded a meeting with CAN, and we have resolved that the services will not hold again. Thanks for your concerns. Stay blessed and Happy Easter to all.
You will recall that the State recorded its second case of Coronavirus on Friday bringing the number of those who have tested positive to COVID-19 to two.
The state commissioner for health, Dr Wahab Adegbenro confirmed this while speaking to journalists in Akure, the state capital.
