The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, is set to marry a princess from the Kano Emirates.
The invitation ceremony which surfaced on Wednesday revealed that Saturday, March 19, 2022.
Oba Akanbi would take Princess Firdauz Abdullah as his new wife at the residence of the Madakin Kano, Yola Quarters, Kano.
The reception has been said to be strictly for ladies and would hold at the palace of the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero.
Oluwo of Iwo will Miss his Wedding Ceremony
The spokesman for the Oluwo of Iwo, Alli Ibrahim, confirmed the ‘Royal Wedding’, noting that preparation for the event was going well.
However, he had further revealed that the King’s position as a paramount ruler, the Oluwo might not be in Kano for the wedding.
He said, “Baba is not likely to be there as a paramount ruler. They will bring the wife to him in Iwo. There is no cause for alarm.”
The Oluwo was previously married to a Jamaican, Chanel Chin, which crashed in December 2019, with a child between them.
