Eberechukwu Obiano, wife to the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, is presently being held in the facility of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
It was gathered that former Anambra First Lady, who has been under investigation, was arrested for questioning, and it hasn’t been discussed when her possible release date would be since the case just got intense.
The reports making the rounds is that the Anambra first lady was invited on charges of fraud as her invitation by the commission comes about a month after her husband was arrested by the anti-graft agency at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
Recall that the former governor attempted to leave for the United States, hours after handing over to his successor, the present Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo.
The arrest led to the anti-corruption agency to ship him to Abuja the following day and quizzed over an alleged diversion of N37 billion security vote and N5bn SURE-P fund.
However, his wife is confirmed that she will be participating and seeking to contest in the 2023 elections to represent Anambra North District at the Senate under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
However, Spokesperson of the commission, Wilson Uwujaren, has denied knowledge of Mrs Obiano’s arrest.
