Obasanjo Proffers Solution to Dampen Biafra Crisis

Share

Olusegun Obasanjo, former Nigerian President, has suggested some ways out of the current unrest created by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, in the South-Eastern Region.

He advised that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, attempt to meet with the leader of IPOB and resolve matters before it escalates.

While addressing the public yesterday via an interview on a media platform, the Ex-President hinted that it means nothing for Buhari to create time and meet with Kanu.

Obasanjo said he would not object to organising a meeting between the two parties, stating that he’d instead encourage finding a lasting result favouring the state’s people.

He insisted that a meeting between himself and the IPOB leader is also a great idea to discuss with Kanu and his pairs to ascertain their worries, which also affects the entire nation.

He pointed out that Army’s brutal response to pro-Biafra sentiment is “not the solution,” adding that dialogue would go a long way in addressing the issue.
