The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has given a new update on the reopening of the orientation camps across the country, shortly after President MUhammadu Buhari gave an order for the reopening of federal secondary schools across the nation.
President Buhari also gave an instruction that the NYSC puts its house together in preparation for the reopening of all its orientation camps across the country.
The NYSC closed its orientation camps abruptly due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country and the newly inducted corp members were released to go home without completing the three weeks they were scheduled to spend.
According to the NYSC’s Spokes person, Adenike Adeyemi, no date has been set yet for the reopening of the orientation camps in the country. In a statement released in Abuja on Saturday, the scheme stressed that it has put all necessary precautionary measures in place at all its orientation camps.
Adeyemi added that NYSC still awaits express order from the President to reopen its camps. All intending corp members are however advised to dishonour the fake news going round that the NYSC camps would be reopened on October 27.
