Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, has boldly dared his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to attempt to expel him. In an appearance on the “Politics Today” program on Channels Television, Wike confidently stated that no one has the authority to remove him from the party.
Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, emphasized that he has not encountered any PDP leader who holds the power to discipline or suspend him. He questioned the alleged authority of those who might consider expelling him, pointing out that they have violated the party’s constitution themselves.
Furthermore, Wike clarified that he is aligned with President Bola Tinubu, not the All Progressives Congress (APC), and sees no need to apologize to anyone. He explained that he supported Tinubu’s bid for the presidency and emphasized his commitment to the success of the Renewed Hope.
Switching gears to infrastructure development, Wike disclosed that the Abuja Metro Line is expected to be operational within the next eight months. He pledged to uphold the FCT masterplan, even if it means going against the interests of affluent residents who often violate regulations.
Wike’s challenge to the PDP and his commitment to infrastructure development demonstrate his confidence and determination to stand his ground and prioritize the development of the Federal Capital Territory.
