Tottenham Hotspur has appointed former Wolves Portuguese manager Nuno Espirito Santo as their new head coach. The manager was given a two-year contract. Nuno left Wolverhampton at the end of the 2020/21 season after four impressive years with the club.
When he was Wolves, he took them from the Championship to a Europa League quarter-final. Tottenham Hotspurs sacked their former manager Jose Mourinho in April and replaced him with 29-year-old Ryan Mason until the end of last season.
According to Nuno Espirito Santo, he said: “It’s an enormous pleasure and honour [to be at Spurs].” He said he is very happy and he is looking forward to starting work. “We don’t have any days to lose, and we must start working immediately as pre-season starts in a few days.”
Nuno will not have long to wait to face his former club as Tottenham will be playing against the Wolves on the 22nd of August. Questions are now that whether he will have England international Harry Kane in the or will the 27-year-old leave the club as he is urgently needed at City.
