The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended its train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route due to the terrorist attack on Monday night.
A train with close to a thousand passengers was en route to Abuja from Kaduna was attacked by some gunmen after blowing up its rail track.
The report suggests that after the train was derailed from its tracks, the bandits shot sporadically at the coaches injuring most while some are feared dead.
The villagers revealed that it took the intervention of the Nigerian Armed Forces (NAF) to resist the attack on the train.
In a new development on Tuesday, the NRC through its official Twitter handles @Official_NRC announced an indefinite suspension of the operations around the Abuja-Kaduna route.
The tweet read, “Dear passengers, due to unforeseen circumstances, Train operations along the Abuja-Kaduna route has been temporarily suspended. Further communication would be given in due course.”
