The Nigerian Police Force, NPF, has apprehended two criminals for kidnapping a seven-year-old child and demanding ransom from the child’s father.
The incident transpired in Ogun State, as the Police Command was swift enough to proceed after getting information on the missing boy.
Yesterday, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Spokesman for the Ogun State Police, communicated this incident to the state correspondents after the arrest.
The Officers caught the two suspected kidnappers, who go by the names Mohammed Abubakar, 42, and Clinton Niche, 18 while trying to collect ransom money at the Agbara area of the region.
According to the Police, the suspects were arrested following a report lodged at Agbara area command by Stephen Ajibili.
Agbili, the missing boy’s father, earlier reported that his seven-year-old son, Daniel Ajibili, had been kidnapped. He needed the service of the officers to recover his child.
Ajibili stated that the abductors had called him and demanded N1 million if he wanted his son released.
“Consequently upon the report, the Acting Area Commander Agbara, CSP Kayode Shedrack, quickly mobilised his detectives to embark on a technical and intelligence-based investigation to unravel those behind the dastardly act.” He said.
