Some notable leaders in the South-South geo-political zone are engaged in heated arguments with the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, Obukowho Whiskey, describing his comments on the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, as ‘’reckless’’.
They said the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom is wandering about alone with his opinions about Akpabio, adding that the temptation to sell out Urhobo and look out for his petty interest is greater than any other ambition.
According to a statement by Chief John Harry, the Chairman of South-South Front, SSF, they described Whiskey’s criticism towards Apkabio as misleading while commending the Minister for steering the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs to greater heights.
The group concluded that Whiskey is prepared to barter away the honour of Idjerhe kingdom and the interests of Urhobo and Ijaw for a job in the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC or a handout from top government functionaries.
SSF Leaders Defend Akpabio’s Name
They added that Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, Obukowho Monday Whiskey, speaks from a place of profound ignorance.
They praised Akpabio for his commitment to more significant development and adherence to the principles of transparency.
‘’Senator Akpabio is a quintessential politician. He has done well,’’ the statement said, and the leaders called on stakeholders not to be influenced by Whiskey and his sponsors.
