Northern Governors Asking For More Coronavirus Funds

The group of Northern governors in Nigeria are requesting for coronavirus funding from the federal government. According to them, the region is responsible for 54% of the cases and over 70% of all new cases in the country at the moment.

The Northern States Governors Forum sent this appeal in a teleconference held this week. They also revealed the success attained in relocating Almajiris to their home states.

In the meeting, the governors made mention of the way many Nigerians are disobeying the ban on interstate travel order. They reminded the law enforcement agencies to quit sabotaging their efforts in managing the pandemic in their states.

Nigeria has also recorded upto 200 deaths from coronavirus and over 6000 confirmed cases.
