Nollywood Veteran Dramatist, Jimoh Aliu Is Dead

Nollywood veteran actor, Jimoh Aliu, aka Aworo is dead. The popular Yoruba dramatist and writer died aged 85.

Popular Nollywood actress, Foluke Daramola has also confirmed the death of the dramatist on her Instagram page. Aworo has he’s fondly called died at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, today, 17th of Septemeber, 2020.

Jimoh Aliu (MFR) is a Nigerian dramatist, sculptor, writer, playwright, and director. He made his acting debut in 1958 when Akin Ogungbe, a veteran dramatist visited his hometown of Oke-Imesi, Ekiti State.

Jimoh Aliu is a former President of the Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (ANTP). He joined the likes of Prof Akinwale Ayobami, Louisa Nwobodo as Nollywood veterans who passed out this recent week.

He had produced several TV drama series among which is ‘Fopomoyo‘ which features King Sunny Ade, ‘Yapan Yanrin‘, ‘Iku Jare Eda‘, and so on.
