Veteran Nollywood actress Lola Idije has broken her silence regarding the viral rumors alleging that actress Biodun Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, snatched her daughter’s boyfriend.
The rumors, which gained widespread attention on social media, claimed that Omoborty’s husband was previously in a romantic relationship with Lola Idije’s daughter before the actress supposedly “snatched” him away. These speculations persisted despite Omoborty denying the accusations during an Instagram live session, where she clarified that her husband had no prior connection with Lola Idije’s family.
“The first time I ever spoke to Omoborty’s husband was when she introduced him to me on a phone call, I did not know him before personally, none of my daughters know him,” Omoborty said, addressing the issue publicly. However, even after her statement, the rumors continued to circulate.
In response to the ongoing controversy, Lola Idije took to Instagram to clear the air. The actress categorically denied any involvement between her family and Omoborty’s husband. In her post, she clarified that the man in question had no prior ties with her or her daughters.
“Good evening Everyone, I want to address the story going around since yesterday and to clear the air. The first time I ever spoke to Omoborty’s husband was when she introduced him to me on a phone call, I did not know him before personally. None of my daughters know him,” she stated.
Idije also emphasized that she had attended Omoborty’s wedding, further dismissing the notion of any conflict between the two actresses. “Omoborty didn’t snatch my daughter’s boyfriend, I attended their wedding. There is no way she would do such, and I would attend the wedding. I hope this clarifies everything,” she concluded.
